Pinoy Readers' Choice Awards 2007
Read or Die is proud to host the first ever Pinoy Readers'
Choice Awards. The Awards are designed both to profile the works
of our local authors as well as to encourage active and critical
engagement on the part of the reading public with contemporary
Philippine literature.
There are FOUR (4) award categories:
Fiction
Non-Fiction
Young Adults Literature
Poetry
Each category will contain a short-list of up to four entries.
Short-lists will be decided by popular nomination.
Nomination Guidelines
- Only full-length books of general fiction, non-fiction
and poetry are eligible for nomination. Collections of short
stories and collections of essays by an author are eligible.
Collected and selected poems by an author are eligible.
- All nominated authors must be Filipino citizens.
- Nominated authors must be living at the commencement of
the awards.
- Nominated books may either be in English or in Filipino.
- Books translated from other Filipino languages into
English or Filipino are eligibile for nomination.
- Comic books and graphic novels are eligible for
nomination.
- Anthologies containing work written by multiple authors
are not eligible.

Voting
The winners of the Readers' Choice Awards will be decided by
popular vote. Readers may vote more than once.
Voting will start on November 17, 2006 and will end on
January 31, 2007.
Readers may vote through our online poll. Winners will be announced on February 4, 2007 during the
closing of RodCon 2007.
