Propaganda Launches

Read Or Die partners with A Better Chance Foundation and Ateneo Universty Press as we launch a pilot guided reading program at Sienna High School (Marikina) for the benefit of senior high school students enrolled under ABC’s night school project on August 17, 2007.

The book chosen for the pilot program is Placido Parcero Jr.’s “Alyas Juan de la Cruz at Iba Pang Mga Kuwento” (Ateneo University Press). Forty-six students will read the book for two hours every week under the guidance of Read Or Die facilitator Tin Mandigma. At the end of the program, the author Placido Parcero Jr. will visit the school to converse with the students about the story, their impressions, and about reading and writing in general.

The purpose of the Propaganda reading program is to engage young readers with contemporary Filipino literature and writers in a collegial and participatory setting.

Read Or Die would like to thank Mr. Lewis Edwards and Ms, K. Nicole Meyer for their kind subsidies.
