10:30 AM - 11:30 AM: Intellectual Property Rights Of Writers and Artists (Intellectual Property  Office)

Atty. Louie Calvario of the Intellectual Property Office will be discussing the basics of intellectual property law in the Philippines in relation to the creative arts. Young artists and writers are especially invited to attend to find out how you can protect your work and your rights as an artist. 

11:45 AM - 12:45 PM: Ang Bagong Libro (New Publishing Markets) 

This panel assembles the publishers and managing editors of relatively new and/or alternative literary markets--which range from the academic to the erotic-- in the Philippines. View guest profiles

1PM - 2:00 PM -  Ang Bagong Libro (Book Design and Illustration) 

Some of the best and most well-known illustrators and book designers in the industry willl speak about the craft of illustrating books and the bookishness of the book as a physical object and/or as a work of art. View our guest list .

2:15 PM - 3:15 PM - Ang Bagong Panitikan (New and Emergent Literatures)  

The title of the panel is perhaps a  misnomer since the panelists will be speaking about genres of Philippine literature (or the literary arts) which have been existing for quite a long time. The forum is not a re-introduction, however, but a point for speculation about current and future trends and possibilities inherent in old, dormant or emerging literary genres. View guest profiles .

3:30 PM - 4:30 PM - Ang Bagong Manunulat (The New Writer) 

This panel features some of the best young writers writing today: Alvin Yapan, Katrina Tuvera, Conchitina Cruz, Paolo Manalo and Maria Isabel Garcia. 4:45 PM - 5:45 PM  - Ang Bagong Mambabasa (New Readers, New Readings) 

There are different ways of reading, interpreting and disseminating literary texts: through individual engagement with a book, in the context of a book club, as filtered through the lens of performative reading and storytelling, or in light of a literary campaign aimed towards a specific demographic.  This (miscellaneous) panel will talk about all of the above.
